This is a special format Halaqa for the children. They all gathered around at the start and participated enthusiastically. In sha Allah, we hope to hold Holiday Halaqas for the children a few times during the year.

Opening Dua

O Allah, bless this Halaqa, allow us to gain, act upon and share beneficial knowledge.
Guide us, forgive our sins and grant us Jannah with our families and loved ones.
O my Lord increase me in knowledge*رَّبِّ زِدْنِى عِلْمًا   Ameen

Quran: Reading

We read Surah Fatihah aloud altogether, then each sister read a small surah from the Quran while the children listened carefully.

Quran: Tafsir

We all watched the following video, then the sisters asked the children various questions about the video.

Al-Fatiha explained for children

Quran: Learn Arabic

We all watched the following video, then we played a fun interactive game using flashcards.

Learn  a Dua

We had a Q & A session following the video with both the sisters and children asking and answering questions.

Snack Time

The children gladly chose from our small selection of snacks and then sat on our picnic mat to continue our Halaqa.
We watched the following video and then discussed it together.

Dua al-Ghaib

Sisters Alia and Mai led us all in a Dua to thank Allah for our blessings and to grant food, health, and blessings to those in need.

Children’s Knowledge Session

Each child had a turn to recite a portion of the Quran or answer a few simple questions that they were sure to know. Then they each received a small present that their moms chose for them from the Halaqa gift bag. The oldest child started the session and the youngest child finished it.
Following the end of the Halaqa, some children had great curiosity about the “Halaqa gift bag” so we allowed them to have a look and exchange their gifts if they wanted.

Closing Dua
