During the COVID-19 “stay at home” order, we have decided to hold our Halaqa online using Zoom. In sha Allah, every Thursday, we will have two adjoining sessions with a small break in the middle.   If you would like to join, please get in touch with us.


Session One 10:30 AM: 



Opening Dua

O Allah, bless this Halaqa, allow us to gain, act upon and share beneficial knowledge. 
Guide us, forgive our sins and grant us Jannah with our families and loved ones. 
O my Lord increase me in knowledge*رَّبِّ زِدْنِى عِلْمًا   Ameen

Quran: Reciting

We read Surah Fatihah aloud altogether, then Sister Alia read Surah Al-Israa verses 105-111 & Surah Al-Kahf verses 1-4 followed by Sister Rim, reading the English Approximation.  In sha Allah, this will be an ongoing part of our Halaqa and one day in sha Allah, we will have Khatam Quran and begin again.   

Children’s Quran

Children were invited to read some Surahs or verses of the Quran.

Their choices:  Al Qariah read by A.
Al Muzzamil (part) and Al Fatihah read by N. 
 Al Bayyinna read by S.

Sister’s Share

Sister Alia shared with us a Hadith about learning the Quran.

Discussion:   After listening to the tafsir, we referred back to our reading and discussed the spot where prostration is indicated. Sister Shimaa shared the following Hadith. 


Also, we discussed whether certain Dhikr could be substituted.

Subhânaka l-lâhumma wa bi-hamdika. Ash-hadu an lâ ilâha illâ anta, astaghfiruka wa atûbu ilayka..
