Ramadan 13, 1438

Ramadan-ers

Year 4
Attendance:
  • 9 Sisters
  • 1 Junior Sister
  • 1 Junior Guests

Location: Headquarters
Agenda: (please note, we have included many links where you can read in detail more on each subject)

  • OPENING DUA
O Allah, bless this Halaqa, allow us to gain, act upon and share beneficial knowledge. Guide us, forgive our sins and grant us Jannah with our families and loved ones. Ameen

  • QURAN RECITATION
We read Surah Fatihah aloud altogether, then sisters individually read aloud a few letters/words, ayahs (according to her ability and with the help and encouragement of her fellow sisters). We read Surah Yunus from Ayah 26 to Ayah 53.  In sha Allah, this will be an ongoing part of our Halaqa and one day in sha Allah, we will have Khatam Quran and begin again.

  • QURAN REFLECTION

We tried a new format during the Halaqa, each sister read the English approximation
immediately after reading the Arabic ayah. It was suggested that next time, we instead
play a video English explanation of the verses we read.

  • SISTERS TALK
Sister Megan read the following article:

Six Ramadan Tips for New Muslims/Reverts

  • NEXT HALAQA and News

In sha Allah, our next Halaqa will be on Thursday, June 22nd at our headquarters.

Celebrate Ramadan Iftar 2017 - Building Bridges of Love and Compassion

Friday, June 16, 2017 from 8:00 PM to 11:55
Friday, June 16, 2017 from 8:00 PM to 11:55 Friday, June 16, 2017 from 8:00 PM to 11:5

  • SISTER PICTIONARY/CHARADES

We introduced a new interactive, engaging and fun activity to help us learn more about
our deen. A mix of charades and Pictionary. Based on the article outlining the best times
to make du’aa (please see below), we wrote each option on a separate piece of paper,
rolled them up, and placed them in a basket. Sisters took turns choosing a paper and
representing it either using a whiteboard, or a charade. Her fellow sisters tried to guess
the time.  Once the correct guess was made, the sister read the explanation

Since one of the duas a sister chose was making a dua for someone not present, we then
made a spontaneous dua for a friend who is in the last stages of Cancer.

  • DUA AL-GHAAIB

Sister Sara led a dua for our New Sisters around the world.

O Allah! Put affection amongst our hearts, reform our matters within us,
guide us to the path of peace, save us from the darkness towards the light,
save us from all kinds of obscenity; the apparent as well as the hidden;
bless our hearing, our sight, our hearts, our spouses and our children,
turn in mercy towards us. Indeed You are the One who greatly accepts
repentance, most Merciful. Ameen
