Guide us, forgive our sins and grant us Jannah with our families and loved ones.
O my Lord increase me in knowledge*رَّبِّ زِدْنِى عِلْمًا   Ameen

Quran: Reciting

We read Surah Fatihah aloud altogether, then Sister Alia read Surah Al-Kahf verses 28-34 followed by Sister Rim, reading the English Approximation.  In sha Allah, this will be an ongoing part of our Halaqa and one day in sha Allah, we will have Khatam Quran
and begin again.

Quran: Tafsir

Surah Al-Kahf  verses 28-34

We have chosen to use Tafsir Ibn Kathir   Volume 6
Sister Alia read  Part 2 then Part 1

Verse 27-28

Verse 29

Verses 30-31

Verses 32-36

Discussion:  How horrifying the description of Hell. How Islam forbids the discrimination of people, yet it still exists in
certain “Muslim” societies.  This stems from pride which is one of the biggest sins. Ramadan is a time to reflect
and train our minds not to fall into the trap of pride.

Sister’s Share

Sister Alia shared a short video about saying In shaa Allah, that came up in our previous Halaqa last week.
She discussed the contents of the video.

Sister Maryum’s reply to an inquiry from Halaqa #146

Sister Megan read:

Question:

It is about the reply you gave, and how, Propet Nuh, pbuh, prayed for the destruction of everyone including children. Yet, Prophet Muhammad, pbuh, after the beating at Taif. He pbuh, had the opportunity to have the people destroyed, but he, pbuh, said maybe Muslims would come from their offspring.

Reply:

It appears from the tafsir of the Sura Nun that it was revealed to prophet nuh saws that nobody else from his nation would believe, except for those who already did. He was patient with them for almost 1000 years in his dawah, but once he knew they won't believe, he then made the Dua which includes the children indirectly by saying they will not rise or give birth to anyone other than defiantly disobedient offspring. Prophet Muhammad saws, on the other hand, didn't have any such revelations that people will no longer believe and his dawah was just about 10 years old when he went to Taif which is relatively short compared to what Noah saws has endured before the Dua for punishment was made.

And Allah knows best

Don’t Be Sad

Daily Good Deed Cards  /  Daily Thankful Jar

Decorate a container as elaborately or simply as you like, then fill it with good deed cards.
Every day, a child can select a deed from the jar. Keep the tasks simple, especially for younger children. After they complete the good deed, the children can write on the back, something they are grateful for and place the card in the Thankful Jar. After Ramadan, the children can reflect on their cards, good deeds and things to be thankful for.
