OPENING DUA

O Allah, bless this Halaqa, allow us to gain, act upon and share beneficial knowledge.
Guide us, forgive our sins and grant us Jannah with our families and loved ones.
O my Lord increase me in knowledge*.  رَّبِّ زِدْنِى عِلْمًا   Ameen


QURAN: READING

We read Surah Fatihah aloud altogether, then sisters individually read aloud a few words, ayahs (according to
her ability and with the help and encouragement of her fellow sisters). We read Surah Ar Ra'd from Ayah 1
to Ayah 5.  In sha Allah, this will be an ongoing part of our Halaqa and one day in sha Allah, we will have Khatam Quran and begin again.
Sisters read an English Approximation (Sahih International) of the above verses.


QURAN: TAFSIR

We have chosen to use Tafsir Ibn Kathir.
Volume 5 Page 230-239 (From our library shelf)
Sister Maryum read the highlighted section.




QURAN: TAJWEED

Tajweed rule: Basic Attributes Part 2 Characteristics that do not have opposites.

Then We listened to  Surah Al-Ikhlas.  This link has both the recitation by Sheikh Husary and the individual
word pronunciation (click on each word) for learning Arabic. The following link is useful for study as well.
Quran for Listening, Learning and Practicing  Sisters who practice their reading in sha Allah will have an
opportunity at the next Halaqa to have a sister listen to their recitation.

We read Surah Yusuf from Ayah 104 to Ayah 111.  In sha Allah, this will be an ongoing part of our Halaqa and one day in sha Allah, we will have Khatam Quran and begin again.
Sisters read an English Approximation (Sahih International) of the above verses.

The Messenger of Allaah salallaahu alaihi wa salam drew four lines on the ground, then he said,
“Do you know what this is?” We said, “Allaah and His Messenger know best.” The Messenger of Allaah
salallaahu alaihi wa salam said: “The best of the women of Paradise are Khadeejah bint Khuwaylid,
Faatimah bint Muhammad, Aasiyah bint Mazaahim the wife of Pharaoh, and Maryam bint ‘Imraan –
Radhiallaahu anhumaa ajma'een.
