Opening Dua

O Allah, bless this Halaqa, allow us to gain, act upon and share beneficial knowledge. 

Guide us, forgive our sins and grant us Jannah with our families and loved ones. 

O my Lord increase me in knowledge*رَّبِّ زِدْنِى عِلْمًا   Ameen

*Part of ayah 114 Surah Taha(20)


Quran: Reciting

Sisters read Surah Fatihah aloud; then we all recited aloud The last Six Surahs from the Quran

Sisters and children participated in a round of friendly questions.



Post-Halaqa:

Following the Eid Halaqa, we all enjoyed a nice selection of sweets and food items.  Some of the children participated in a small quiz (see below) that Sister Rim prepared. Prizes were given to all the children. Then they played a fun “unwrap the gift” game.  Sister Rim had prepared a Sisters’ quiz as well, but that was postponed to our next Halaqa. 


Yummy treat bags were prepared for all the children to take home. Sisters also participated in a gift exchange.

Following our closing Dua, the children participated in a fun quiz and unwrapping game. Rewards and prizes were given to all the children.

Subhânaka l-lâhumma wa bi-hamdika. Ash-hadu an lâ ilâha illâ anta, astaghfiruka wa atûbu ilayka..

Sister Alia read Surah Fatihah aloud; then we each recited from Surah al-Anbiyaa verses 73-81, followed by Sister Rim, reading the English Approximation by Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran.  In sha Allah, this will be an ongoing part of our Halaqa, and one day in sha Allah, we will have Khatam Quran and begin again.

We have chosen to use Tafsir Ibn Kathir   Volume 6 

Sister Alia read all three parts.
