Discussion:

Allah, swt, gave us the gift of love, not just romantic love.  This love can take many forms and levels. You can love different people in different ways.  You can get various and different benefits from these different forms of love. Always try to show your appreciation for those in your life that you love.  Whether in person or with a dua.

When we see a sister in Hijab, there is an instant bond, an instant love for my Muslim Sister.

  1. The Story of Musa and Al-Khidr

Verse 60-65

Discussion:

The beauty of Ayah 58, it beautifully describes the mercy of Allah, the most glorified, the highest.

We have to try hard to keep the Quran in our lives, and not be caught off guard by the distractions that we face.

We decided to do more research on 55:22 (from the tafsir part 4) and discuss next week in shaa Allah.

How patient Prophet Ibraheem was with Yusha` bin Nun, how he shared the blame for walking too far.  We should take his example in our own situations.

How we need to attribute knowledge back to Allah, the most glorified, the highest, and teach our children this as well.

During our halaqa last week, we had a question about free will and Jinn.

Reply from Sister Maryum about Jinn

The Jinn definitely do have free will and they are not part of mankind, there is no dispute on this point between the scholars. Shaitan was from the jinn and he disobeyed Allah, only those who have free will can disobey or obey and be punished or rewarded accordingly. They are not part of mankind as we know from the Quran they were created from fire and we were created from soil, we are different, but they will also be judged and can go to heaven or hell.

Also, we have the following information on our website.

Children’s Quran

Children were invited to read some verses of the Quran.

Our Junior Sister S recited from memory Surah Al-Balad

Quran: Tajweed

We are following a book from our library that is not copyrighted.

She used the notes in the book page 15 and the following two pictures to aid our understanding.

That time of the month

Sister Maryum’s advice: As for keeping your iman during menses, reading of the Quran is not recommended or even prohibited by the majority of scholars unless it is from your memory (I’m talking about the Arabic text here, translation is not included in this), there are few who allow it with a barrier but it is rare. There are several other things that can be done, dhikr, dua, reading tafsir or other Islamic books, listening to lectures, giving charity etc, there are countless things that can be done vs the few that cannot be done (prayer/fasting etc).

What Are Acts of Worship a Menstruating Woman Can Engage In? menstruating-woman-can-engage-in/

Discussion:

Your week of Dhikr, think of it as an active thing, not a negative attitude.

One Surah that has been prominent in this Halaqa has been Al-Azhaab
