• QURAN RECITATION

We read Surah Faatihah aloud all together, then sisters individually read aloud a few letters/words, ayahs (according to her ability and with the help and encouragement of her fellow sisters).  We read Surah Baqarah from Ayat 17 till Ayat 29.  In sha Allah, this will be an ongoing part of our Halaqa and one day in sha Allah, we will have Khatam Quran and begin again.

• LEARN A DUA

The Excellence of Remembering Allah

Sister Winnie presented a dua taken from Fortress of the Muslim

Whenever anyone accepted Islam, the Prophet (SAW) used to teach him how to pray then he would instruct him to invoke Allah with the following words:

Allaahummaghfir lee, warhamnee, wahdinee, wa 'aafinee warzuqnee.

O Allah forgive me, and have mercy on me and guide me and give me good health and provide for me.

Reference: Muslim 4/2073, and in one of Muslim's reports there is the addition: 'For these words combine [the goodness of] this world and the next.'

We agreed that sisters attending should become more involved in the Halaqa and alhamdulillah, three sisters have chosen to present topics at upcoming halaqas in sha Allah.
